Do you ever feel like love should be simple and easy and resemble something you see on TV or in the movies? Do you think maybe you are making a mistake if it doesn’t take the path of least resistance? Do you wonder why your romance isn’t a fairy tale or why you haven’t met “The One” by the age of 22 and settled down with two kids and a dog?

Well, I’m here to tell you that’s all a load of crap. Everyone is different. Every life is different. Every experience is different and every relationship is different.

You are you and you will meet who you need and not necessarily who you want so you can learn your lessons and move on and if you haven’t learned your lesson you will meet that same person over and over again only in different form.

However, I thought I’d pull up a few quotes from some of my favorite authors to remind you that life and love can be complex and that it’s OKAY!

  1. “The one thing we can never get enough of is love. And the one thing we never give enough is love.” – Henry Miller

  2. “Love does not begin and end the way we seem to think it does. Love is a battle, love is a war; love is a growing up.” – James Baldwin

  3. “You don’t love because: you love despite; not for the virtues, but despite the faults.” – William Faulkner

  4. “The course of true love never did run smooth.” – William Shakespeare

  5. “The heart was made to be broken.” – Oscar Wilde

  6. “They were involved in that awkward procedure of getting to unknow each other.” – John Irving

  7. “Deep feelings always mean more than they are conscious of saying”. – Albert Camus

  8. “The mind is its own place, and in itself can make a heaven of hell, a hell of heaven.” -John Milton

  9. “If you look for perfection, you’ll never be content.” – Leo Tolstoy
